04:05 am - ricer of star wars
I don't usually cross post stuff I write on TPS, but this one tickled me pink. There was a discussion stating that the Millennium Falcon was the ricer of Star Wars, and a guy correcting him saying that the A-Wing was. I disagreed with both, with this post:
I'd say any TIE Fighter is the ricer of Star Wars.
1. Foreign design we love to hate.
2. Over 17 variants of the same basic look. (body kits baby!)
3. Extremely maneuverable craft, and very good acceleration, even if top speeds can be beat by a few comparable Republic fighters.
4. No shields! All looks no backbone, one bad parallel docking job and those plastic sidepanels are done for.
5. Pilot comfort is not a priority: cramped interior, bad visibility and hard molded seats.
6. TEH SUBS! Everone knows that the large panels on the sides of TIEs are not solar panels, but actual subwoofers. TIE pilots are able to get in thier groove by using the latest and most popular Bith rap music to rattle thier enemy's ships, and rumor has it that Bith-Hop actually disrupts Force concentration!
7. Twin Ion Engines get 42+ Miles Per Parsec!

07:13 pm - signed up for a savings account, they gave me 25 bucks
My roommate just got me to open an account with ING Direct. All online banking, tons of website security, 4.40% Annual Percentage Yield, everything is great. And the best part was that if I signed up with an initial deposit of $250 bucks, they gave me $25 for free, and my roommate got a 10 buck referral reward.
Check it out: http://home.ingdirect.com/products/p...SavingsAccount
If any of you have been interested in a savings account this is a pretty good deal anyway. If you want the 25 bucks send me a PM with your email addy and I'll send one of the referral forms.
If you just wanna make some quick cash, you only need to keep the $250 in for 3 weeks before you can take it out again. The $25 is your instantly though. Deal ends Nov 30 though so hurry up.

07:01 pm - funny stuff
If you are familiar with Yahoo's Fantasy Football, you know there is a section in the Expert Advice called "Fantasy Matchups". The point of this section is to give your players a rank of 0-5 based on thier recent performance and taking into consideration the kind of team they are playing against. There will also be a short summary to describe how your players should perform this week.
Instead of giving you information that actually helps you, you usually get some contradictory statment:
"He is a stud, but you never know."
"Not producing but excellent matchup."
"Hot hands if he can actually catch the ball, always play."
The information is pretty much useless. I'm almost convinced that Yahoo employs some kind of statement generator when the week's info goes live.
My roommate called me into his room last night to show me the statement that takes the cake:
What in the hell is this bullshit?

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Remember my rant about Miami the beginning on the season? Lets change it to Jacksonville and call it good.

12:01 am - alright enough of this
I am absolutely sick of people telling me how awesome and genius Weird Al is. His new album sounds exactly like something I would listen to when I was 13. And I did listen to Weird Al when I was in Jr. High. The songs are NOT cool, they are NOT fresh, and they are definately NOT funny.
The latest White and Nerdy peice of crap song is just that. How many times is he going to turn a rap song about thugs into a rap song about nerds and be called a genius for it? Well, four times, so far. And above all, he just looks like a complete retard. Which I guess accurately fits his music then huh?

01:32 am - anchorhead
For those of you that still haven't heard of Anchorhead, they have just released some teasers of Shredisode V.
Anchorhead is a death metal Star Wars tribute band, and the best music I've heard in over a year.

12:19 am - sweet beer
Found it at the store today. Tastes great, even though I could have bought a 12 pack of Champagne o' Beers for the price. I wish it had a stronger taste to it though, I can barely just taste the cloves, and the pumpkin comes as a slight hint in the aftertaste. Oh yeah:
I love Autumn.

View outside my apartment. Crazy. It's been in the 70s-80s the past few weeks, and all of the sudden it drops to the 40s. Can't wait to start boarding, this weather is just a tease.

12:32 pm - wii announced at $250
When Miyamoto told the reporter at the NYT that the new Nintendo console would cost $250USD, the reporter asked why it was $50 higher than previous Nintendo consoles. Miyamoto said it was due to differences in the exchange rate. So the reporter said "Fluctuations?"
Miyamoto replied "Fluck you Amelicans too!"

05:36 am - too late
I looked everywhere for a sound clip of Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News Team singing "Afternoon Delight", and all I could find was the terrible song on the official soundtrack. So I found a youtube video clip, ripped the audio, and mixed by own: Afternoon Delight.
I'm up late burning a soundcheck cd for work.
01:57 am - woohoo
Albertson's was having a 10 for 10 bucks sale tonight. My roommate and I bought:
8 boxes of Granola/Breakfast Bars
8 boxes of Toaster Strudels
5 boxes of Cereal
4 boxes of Microwave Pasta Meals
2 tubes of Crescent Rolls
1 tube of Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 jug of Soy Milk
1 box of Apple Strudel Muffin Mix
30 items for 30 bucks, plus tax. All name brand stuff. Awesome. The sale goes on for like 4 days and started today, they were already sold out of alot of items. We grabbed the last crescent rolls.
Pretty awesome deal. We'll be fed for a while.

10:28 pm - Well shucks.
Good game regardless. Dammit Dante, why do black QBs always end up throwing away the game under pressure? I knew I shouldn't have played him in my fantasy league. He still played great for the most part though. Miami can pull this off.
02:29 am - wooooooooooooo!!!
Football season kicks off tomorrow with what I hope will be a great game. The Dolphins are going to be my underdog team this year...I have a feeling with Culpepper on board(if he stays healthy), Chambers is going to be Hot-Hands McGee and Brown has no reason not to put up some points. Here's hoping at Miami in the playoffs.
THANK GOD FOR FOOTBALL SEASON!
